Secondary

The Secondary School curriculum is academically rigorous and enables girls to develop those significant intellectual skills that go beyond each academic discipline, to ensure they can use their knowledge in new situations and see connections between and within-subjects. Such skills are fundamental if pupils are to achieve their maximum potential and develop as independent, focused learners who are academically successful.

There are six 45 minute lessons each day for all students in Years 7 – 11.

Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9)

All students study English, Maths, Science, Computing, History, Geography, Physical Education, Art, Religious Studies, Arabic, Urdu or Turkish. Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) is also taught and this covers a variety of topics to help pupils develop safe and healthy lifestyles and an awareness of the society that they live in.

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11)

At Key Stage 4, all students will follow a common core of English, English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science Core and Additional, RS and PSHCE.  In addition, students study History, Geography and Computing. PE is taught as a non-examination subject.

Languages

Girls have the choice of Arabic, Urdu or Turkish as their main language. French is also available as an after school language for those with a French-speaking background or interested in learning French.
