On Tuesday, July 8th, students from Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 participated in their annual sports day at Springfield Park. The girls competed in football and cricket tournaments, followed by individual sprint races and relays. Throughout the day, points were awarded to each house group for both team and individual events, making it an exciting day filled with competition!
The standout sprinter from Year 7 was Maryam Miah. In Year 8, the race was very close, with Sumayyah Arefin taking 1st place. For Year 9, Sumayyah McKenzie excelled, while Aisha Solkar shone in Year 10.
A special mention goes to the mothers and teachers who secured an impressive victory against the Year 9/10 students in the tug of war.
The Primary Sports Day took place on Wednesday, July 9th, where students from Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 competed in a multi-sport event. There were exciting water races and a giant dodgeball match. The students worked hard despite the hot conditions.
Outstanding individual sprinters included Juwayiriah Ahmed and Bushra Nurr from Years 1 and 2. The fastest runner from Year 3 was Zara Sahebzada. Fatima Rizwan took 1st place in the Year 4 sprint, while Khadijah R and Farha Ahmed claimed impressive victories in Year 6. There were remarkable individual performances and excellent teamwork.
Overall, it was a fun and competitive day. Well done to everyone who participated!
