UCL Suture to the Future Workshop

Year 11 students recently participated in the Suture to the Future workshop delivered by medical students from UCL. This engaging, hands-on session gave students the opportunity to use real medical equipment while learning basic suturing techniques. Don’t worry—no humans were experimented on! Students practised their skills on bananas instead.

In addition to the practical activity, the UCL students shared helpful advice on revision strategies and spoke about different pathways into medicine and other health-related careers.

The session was both informative and enjoyable, and as you can see from the photos, some excellent sutures were produced. We may well have some future Tayyibah doctors in the making!
